この器は、日本が育んだ自然と人間の智の共創の象徴である。自然の創り出した造形に寄り添いながら、人間の智と自然を融合したデザインは、
熟練木工職人の匠の技とのコラボレーションである。木には癒しの効果があり、日本文化・日本の歴史の中に重要な役割を果たしてきた。
自然の木の表情をできるだけそのまま生かしたデザインは、匠の手により、年輪に沿って割った板を削り、タガで締め付け立体にし、柔らかくデザインされた機能的  な底面から、上方向に向かって自然が沸き立つように姿を変えていく器であり、
自然美、無心の美、素材美、機能美を併せ持つ、ネイチャーセンタードデザインを目指した  作品である
