GINPO | Exhibited Milano Triennale 1994 | Tokyo Matsuya Design Gallery 1995 |
Designed for Tiffany
as part of their home I-DEA collection. Ginpo is one of sixteen
pieces in the collection of tea pots created by some of the most
prestigious designers. The beauty and balance of its form, its
precious material, all communicate a domestic ritual, one that
is consumed in front of cup of tea, a special moment of the day
dedicated to oneself. A concept explained through its name
derived by the ideogram 'Ghin' that in the old Japanese means
something rare and precious, like the thin silver sheets used as
in the art of origami, twisted and folded to generate an unusual
and intriguing object. Presented at the: "I-DEA" exhibition at the Triennale di Milano (1995) "Tisaniere Progect" exhibition at the Tokyo Design Gallery (1996) "Setsu ITO" exhibition organized by by Mercedes Benz at the Salone del Mobile di Milano (1998).
